She and Griffin would celebrate their third wedding anniversary next month. And despite the stresses of her surgery and attempts to get pregnant during the first years of their marriage, they'd grown closer.
In retrospect, she was grateful for the time they'd had to forge their identity as a couple. Especially now that they'd doubled the size of their family in an instant—and were open to the possibility of adopting children in the future.
She looked up at Griffin. "Promise me something?"
"What?"
"Don't ever stop loving me."
He bent down for a kiss, leaning over the babies in their arms, and murmured against her lips, "You can bet on it."
