“A kiss for you to check on my mom. You spent all night kissing and f**king me.”
“Exactly, I want to know what it’s like to have those beautiful lips on mine without me having to take charge.” He stepped closer, invading her space.
“You’re making me do it now.”
“Maybe I am, but you’re going to have to convince me that you want this or I won’t go and help your mother.”
She wanted to deny him. Her break was more than enough time for her to get back to her mother.
Kiss him. You know you want to.
Running her hands up his bare chest, she circled her hands around his neck. “Curse, would you look after my mother?”
Before he could answer, she tugged him down to kiss him. He didn’t fight her and came down to her easily. She slid her tongue over his lips, and he opened his to let her inside.
Playing with the hair at the base of his neck, she melted against him loving the feel of his lips on hers.
His hand caught her ass, and Curse took over, kissing her deeply.
After what felt like a lifetime she pulled away from him. He licked his lips and smiled.
“Baby, you didn’t really have to convince me. I was happy with a kiss on the cheek.”
She punched him in the arm.
A quick breakfast of coffee and toast, and they were out on his bike. She held onto Curse as he rode the way back to the diner. He’d given her a pair of boxers to wear in place of the panties he tore the night before.
Outside of the diner he kept the bike running.
“I’ll come and collect you tonight.”
“I can’t stay away from my mom two nights in a row.”
“I’m not asking you to. We’ll spend the night at your mother’s. Don’t worry, I won’t f**k you for her to hear even though I think she’d be happy to know you get some excitement.”
She slapped his shoulder again. “Stop it. Make sure she takes her medication.”
Turning her back on him, she walked into the diner aware of his gaze on her. Mia saw she still had thirty minutes before her actual shift began. Nodding at several of the customers and waitresses she made her way to the staff room. Sitting on the bench nearest her locker she thought over what happened last night.
He was never going to let up. Curse didn’t fool her. The questions would stop for her, but he wouldn’t stop in his attempt to find out the answers. The staff room had a phone for them to make calls. She placed a couple of cents in the bowl and dialed Ashley’s number.
It rang a couple of times before Ashley answered.
“Whoever the f**k that is you tell them to be reasonable next time.” A male was shouting in the background.
“Shut it, Pussy. It’s my phone, and I can have calls whenever the hell I want. Hello,” Ashley said.
“Hey, it’s me, Mia.”
“Mia, honey, how are you?”
“Check the date. How do you think I am?”
The silence on the other end was deafening.
“Hey, where are you going?” Pussy asked.
“I’ve got to take this in private.” Ashley spoke up.
Resting her head against the wall, Mia wished she hadn’t called, but the only person she could talk to was her friend.
“I’m outside now. No one can hear us. What’s the matter, Mia?” Ashley asked.
“I just, I don’t know. I needed to talk to you. You’re the only one I can trust.”
“It was a long time ago. Prom night, remember. We promised each other we wouldn’t do this. We covered our asses, so stop bringing it up before you f**king curse us.” Ashley sounded broken over the line.
“I can’t stop.” Taking deep breaths, Mia did her best to get her rioting emotions under control. “It’s all right for you. You didn’t do anything.”
“I was there, and I helped. He was a bastard, Mia. We did the right thing.”
“You mean I did.”
“Is this about Curse? Is he asking questions?” Ashley asked.
“He’s always asking questions. It’s only a matter of time before he finds out the truth.” Opening her eyes, she turned to face the room. “He won’t take no for an answer.” And she’d grown tired of fighting him. She was always fighting him, and it hurt at times.
“Then make him forget about your past.”
“There’s only so much I can do and say. He’s relentless.”
Ashley started talking about other things.
“I need you to sleep with him,” Mia said, cutting her friend off.
“What?”
“He promised there wouldn’t be any other women. If you sleep with him, it’s a reason for me to stop.”
Silence met her answer.
“Mia, I’m not some whore to use like that.”
“You’ve f**ked him before, and you sleep with half the club. I’m not offering you cash. I’ve got none. I need you to help me to stop him from wanting to be with me.”
Ashley hysterical chuckle came over the line.
“You’re not going to help me?” Mia asked, angry.
“I can’t help you with this.”
“You asked me to keep this a secret. I’ve done everything in my power to make your life easier, Ashley. Help me with this, or I swear to God, you and I will no longer have anything in common as I’ll turn myself in.” She slammed the phone down.
Mia wasn’t lying. She was tired of feeling this way, and if the only way to make it all stop was to come clean, then she would.
Chapter Six
Curse stormed into the clubhouse within half an hour of dropping Mia off. He went straight for the office where he knew Devil would be. Entering the office he found his president on the phone looking serious.
“You’re f**king serious? Alex did it? Shit, Tiny, what are you going to do?”
Devil looked up at him and nodded for him to take a seat.
“Butch is not going to come back to The Skulls now.”
Tiny was obviously saying something else.
“I know, and Angel is settling in again?”
“She’s still in Italy with Lash?”
His president nodded. The conversation was one sided. Tapping his leg, Curse waited for the phone call to end. Ten minutes later Devil hung up. “I’m telling you we settled in the wrong f**king town. Tiny and The Skulls are dealing with a whole load of other drama.”
“Who with?” Curse asked.
“Butch and Alex.” Devil shook his head. “I’m not going to get into it. It’s f**king ridiculous, but I’m sure we’ll be dragged back to Fort Wills in no time. Lexie has agreed to go. Eva’s arranging a family barbeque for all of us to be invited. It will be good. Anyway, why are you here?”
