“Are you sure you’re happy with the news?” she asked, biting her lip and feeling nervous.
“Baby, I can’t begin to describe how you make me feel.” He tilted her head back, kissing her lips.
Moaning, she opened up for his invasion, loving the way he deepened the kiss.
They fought each other to remove their clothes. In no time at all they were naked, and Killer held her to the bed, stopping her from moving anywhere but where he wanted her.
“You’re mine, Kels.”
“I’ve always been yours,” she said, moaning. His lips captured one of her ni**les, sucking on the tip hard.
Heat filled her pu**y, and the need to come swamped her. Killer slid inside her without a condom. They’d been making love for a long time without any protection. She hadn’t given contraception a thought.
They were going to have a family all of their own.
He held her hands beside her head, staring down at her. She gazed into his eyes never wanting to be anywhere but with him.
“You’ve made me one of the happiest men in the world,” he said, pulling out only to press back inside her.
She cried out, feeling him hit her deep inside. Thrusting up, she met him with every stroke. He pounded inside her, drawing two orgasms from her before he finally joined her into bliss.
He collapsed over her, panting for breath. Kelsey didn’t want him to move, but after a few seconds he pulled away, to cup her cheek. The intensity of his gaze made her heart race.
“I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
“I’m not the only woman who can get pregnant,” she said, smiling.
“Not talking about the baby. I love you. The baby is just a bonus, but you, you’re the one who makes me the luckiest man in the world.”
His words took her by surprise. Her only response was to grab his face and kiss the life out of him. Kelsey was the lucky woman. Not many women could have a man willing to leave their club behind to keep her safe.
Eight months later, Kelsey smiled as Killer looked down at the son she had given birth to. Now they were a complete family. The love she saw on his face was similar to the love shining in his eyes whenever he looked at her.
Epilogue
From the end of Devil’s Charm
Zero parked his bike up for the night and charged into the club house. He’d just gotten back from the barbeque Devil had hosted at his house in Piston County. A beer and a woman to f**k were what he needed. Spending the whole day watching Sophia with Nash had driven him insane.
No matter how many women he f**ked, he couldn’t stop the feelings she evoked within him. Fucking woman was going to send him into an early grave. Part of him had been tempted to cut away from the club and head up to Paradise Rocks to get to know Mason Terry.
Heading outside around the back of the clubhouse, he heard all of the men getting back into the club. The kids were screaming their tiredness. Some of the men took off going to their homes. Killer, along with a couple of others, hadn’t been to the barbeque.
Resting his head against the brick, Zero tried to get her out of his thoughts. The only time he stopped thinking about her was when he was alone with Prue. He went to visit her regularly as it was getting closer to the anniversary of her brother’s death.
Blowing out a breath, he took a large gulp of his beer.
Someone was close beside him, and he turned to see the woman of his nightmares standing there, smiling.
“What the f**k are you doing here?” he asked, staring at Sophia. The smile dropped from her lips.
“I came to see if you were all right. Nash was worried.”
Fucking man was begging to start a fight over her.
“What do you want? All I want is some peace away from you. Is that so hard to ask?” He growled the words out. Smashing the bottle onto the floor, he caught her arms. “Don’t you see I’m trying here?”
“Zero, you’re scaring me,” she said.
“Fuck it, you know what? I’ve been a good boy up until now, but you’re everywhere. I can’t get away from you.” Zero was going straight to hell, but he was going to have a taste of heaven before he went.
Drawing her closer, he felt her tense but didn’t give a shit. He needed her sweet lips on him.
“Zero, stop, you don’t want to do this,” she said.
He f**king did and was going to finally do what he’d been craving. Lowering his head down, he was a breath away when a scream, the sound of a gunshot, and men shouting surrounded them. Covering Sophia, he looked around waiting to see what had happened.
“What was that?” he asked, forgetting all about kissing her.
His brothers were shouting out orders, calling for Sandy. Together they left the back of the clubhouse to see what all the fuss was about.
Zero stopped when he saw the dark red hair. He recognized that shade of hair. Butch held the woman’s head in his lap, barking out orders. Charging through the group, Zero felt his world finally shatter. Blood coated Prue’s front near her heart. Her eyes were wide and terrified as she stared at him.
He saw her mouth open as she coughed, more blood coming out of her mouth.
“He’s back,” she said, struggling with every word. In her hand was a picture, and he took it staring down at the old school picture of him, Prue, and her brother. Ten years ago, he had been responsible for her brother’s death. He’d never caught the bastard who put the bullet in his best friend’s gut, killing him slowly. Looking at the back he saw the message.
“Two down, one to go.”
Prue gasped for breath. The one person he’d sworn to protect was dying in front of him. Zero looked around feeling lost. Prue had been the only lifeline he had. Pressing his hands to her wounds, he prayed she survived.
He wasn’t going to lose another person he loved. In that one moment, Zero knew he had a limited amount of time left. Someone had a target on his head, and it was up to him to find out who.
