“Then I’ll rip them right off of you,” he advised, his voice low and even, not at all threatening. It was a promise. A small smile tipped the corners of his mouth.

As much as she liked the idea, over the course of their marriage, Logan had ruined more than one pair of her panties, and she really was getting tired of replacing them.

“I’ll take them off,” she informed him as she tried to take a step back. His hands tightened on her hips, stilling her.

“I think I’d rather do the honors.”

Oh, hell. They might not make it out of the house if he kept this up.

Giving in, Sam stood still while Logan took his time lowering her panties until they slipped over her calves and landed on her feet. Stepping out of them, she grabbed them with her toes and lifted her foot, laughing with him while he took them from her. His other hand continued to roam beneath the dress, his fingers tormenting her mound as he brushed gently over her bare skin.

“Are you ready to go?” he asked, a grin splitting his face because clearly he knew exactly what he did to her.

“I am,” she assured him. More than ready.

Logan rose to his feet but when she turned to head for the door, he stopped her by placing his hand on her arm.

“You won’t need this tonight either,” he said, his other hand sliding down her back, stopping on the strap of her bra.

Oh, hell.

Sam sucked in a deep breath and nodded. Arguing with him was a losing battle. Logan always got what he wanted. He had a way of making her melt into a puddle, which meant she would eventually cave. She’d learned not to pretend otherwise because it was a waste of time.

Logan slid the narrow straps of her dress down her arms, the silk effortlessly dropping past her breasts. He then easily unclasped her strapless bra and tossed it onto the bed. When his arms came around her, Sam leaned back into his embrace, relishing the feel of his warm hands on her naked breasts.

He was teasing her. On purpose.

Thankfully, he didn’t linger long. If he had, Sam wasn’t so sure they’d have made it out of the house. In fact, Logan went from relaxed to determined in the blink of an eye. So much so, Sam was surprised he even allowed her to put on her shoes, giving her barely enough time to strap them on before he was ushering her out of the house and into the Corvette.

She slid into the sleek car after he opened her door and let her head drop back on the headrest.

This was going to be one of those nights; she could feel it already.

Chapter Four

“Elijah Penn, I’d like you to meet my wife, Samantha.”

Elijah noticed the way Sam’s eyes widened as her gaze strayed to his face. That was without doubt surprise glowing mysteriously in her eyes. Reaching out, Elijah took Sam’s hand, lifting it to his mouth as he kept his gaze locked with hers. He was supposed to say something; he knew that. He just couldn’t find the words.

“I invited him here tonight,” Logan explained. “The same as last night.”

Samantha retrieved her hand from his grasp and Elijah continued to watch her.

“Very nice to meet you, Samantha,” Elijah managed when he found his voice. “Would you mind if I buy you a drink?”

After turning to look at Logan briefly, Samantha leveled her stare on him once more. “I’d like that,” she said sweetly, linking her fingers with Logan’s tightly.

Elijah’s cock wasn’t the only part of his anatomy that had stood at attention as soon as he had laid eyes on Samantha McCoy in the shadows of the dimly lit club. His entire body was rock hard.

Thankfully, he had his jacket in place to hide the physical evidence of his arousal. But the jacket was doing little to keep his interest on the down low.

Elijah followed the couple to an empty table.

The three of them had managed to find an empty table in a relatively quiet spot where the music wasn’t blaring obnoxiously overhead. It also gave them a little privacy. Not that they needed it.

He waited for Samantha to take her seat before he lowered himself into the chair beside her. Yeah, he was pretty sure that shielding himself wasn’t doing much good because he could tell that the incredibly beautiful woman now seated beside him knew just how much she affected him. Both last night and tonight.

And she had.

More than he expected.

A waitress arrived instantly, taking their drink order and scurrying off. The awkward silence had nearly strangled him by the time the woman returned.

“Thank you,” Sam told him when the waitress delivered their drinks. “For the drink.”

Elijah grinned, glancing away from Sam and down to his drink now sitting in front of him, thankful for the shadows that partially hid his face. He didn’t know what Samantha might read in his expression, but he knew it would likely be enough to send her running in the opposite direction.
