Entrusted (Club Destiny #7) Page 21
Author: Nicole Edwards

For over a year, she and Logan hadn’t invited anyone else into their relationship and until recently, she hadn’t met anyone that she wanted to interact with that way. As far as she was concerned, Elijah seemed to be interested. And he seemed interested in something more than temporary, but not quite permanent.

Or maybe that was just her wishful thinking.

As for what that meant exactly, she still wasn’t sure. But if things worked out the way she hoped, she wouldn’t have to worry about a fleeting interlude with someone else.

“What does Logan think of the whole thing?” Sierra asked, interrupting Sam’s thoughts.

“What does Logan think of what whole thing?” Logan asked as he came into the kitchen holding Hannah and an armful of toys.

Sam glanced at Sierra in time to see her friend blush bright red. Sam laughed and saved her by answering Logan’s question. “We were just talking about Elijah.”

Logan nodded, lowering himself into a chair beside Sam, his gaze never leaving hers. Sam could see the heat in his eyes and the promise for a little payback for talking about their extracurricular activities later. Sam knew Logan didn’t really mind that she talked to Sierra, but that didn’t mean he didn’t enjoy punishing her so to speak.

“Speaking of Elijah,” Logan said, “we’re going to have dinner with him tomorrow night. Then we’re going to Devotion.”

A sharp flutter erupted in Sam’s belly and she fought the urge to jump out of her chair. Did that mean…?

She didn’t want to jump to conclusions. They had gone to Devotion a few times since the club opened so that didn’t mean they’d be going with Elijah after they had dinner with him, or just the two of them. She didn’t ask either.

Glancing back at him, she noticed the twinkle in his hazel eyes and another heatwave flashed through her.

A girl could certainly hope.

Logan watched his wife and he appreciated the effort she made to hide her excitement. The thing was, he knew Sam better than that and the way her face lit up told him everything he needed to know.

He’d received a phone call from Elijah an hour ago, inviting them to dinner tomorrow and he had graciously accepted without consulting with Sam first. He knew what her answer would be and the way her face flushed with heat as she sat across from him confirmed it.

Turning his attention back to Hannah, Logan pretended not to notice. “Where’re your daddies at, little one?”

“They had to run over to Club Destiny early this morning,” Sierra explained. “Kane called and wanted to talk about something.”

Logan glanced up at Sierra. “Everything all right?”

“According to Luke, yes,” Sierra grinned. “According to Cole, maybe. They both said it really wasn’t a big deal. Just a minor incident last night, I guess. Kane handled it, but he wanted to talk with Luke and Cole about it.”

Logan nodded. He knew that Kane was quite capable of handling the club now that it had been turned into more of a nightclub than a fetish club. In fact, Kane and Lucie had made some major improvements from what he’d heard and Luke seemed quite happy with the two of them managing the place.

“So how are things going with Devotion? Besides the obvious?” he asked, never taking his eyes off Hannah. She was such a beautiful little girl and she looked so much like Cole it was almost scary. Not that it was a bad thing, but Logan was still surprised sometimes.

“I’m not sure they could be going any better than they are now,” Sierra answered his question before taking a sip of water.

“How’s the new house?”

“Lovely. I was telling Sam the other day that there’s one down the street that’s about to come on the market. I’m thinking we should all be neighbors,” Sierra said with a smirk.

“I’m not sure that the neighborhood could handle Luke and me at the same time,” Logan joked before glancing back at Hannah. “All right, little one. I’ve got a meeting. With a golf course. And if I’m late, Alex and your daddies might have my head.” He refrained from using the curse words that would’ve normally spilled from his mouth because of present company.

“How is he doing? Alex?” Sierra asked, her bright blue gaze fixed on him.

Logan knew exactly what she was referring to, but he was pretty sure he didn’t have any more information than she did. Less probably. “Today, he seems to be doing fine.”

“How is Ashleigh?” Sam asked, directing her question at Sierra.

“I haven’t talked to her in a few days. I don’t think she’s purposely avoiding me, but she’s trying to take it easy.”
