Infatuation (Club Destiny #4) Page 31
Author: Nicole Edwards

“He did ask whether you two were exclusive.”

“He just out and out asked?” Tag jerked his gaze back to Luke’s face. He didn’t believe for a minute that the quiet cowboy would’ve broached a subject like that with Luke. Or with anyone for that matter.

“Not specifically, no.”

Tag noticed the mischievous look in Luke’s eyes. The man was a lot of things, but a match maker he could never be. That didn’t mean he wasn’t interfering.

It wasn’t a secret that Tag generally preferred threesomes. Both Cole and Luke were well aware of that, but what did surprise him was Travis’ interest. He didn’t know much about the man and as far as he could tell, Travis preferred it that way.

There was a rumor that Travis was actually bisexual. Now, he had no idea who started that rumor, nor did he actually care about Travis’ personal preferences, but it was another reason Tag questioned his interest. Tag wasn’t bisexual, nor had he ever been.

“Then how exactly did it come up?” Tag asked when Luke didn’t offer more.

“Let’s just say he’s open to playing.”

Tag cocked an eyebrow. What did that mean?

“But he swings both ways.”

Tag kept any expression off of his face. He still didn’t believe that this conversation just happened. Something prompted it, and Luke was now confirming the rumor that Travis Walker was bisexual, as well.

“He’s interested if you guys are.” Luke finally bit out, sounding oddly frustrated as he stormed off.

Tag had to admit, there was a bit of satisfaction in getting Luke riled up.

Tag followed Luke with his eyes, but the instant that damn cowboy came into his peripheral vision, Tag no longer cared about Club Destiny’s owner.

His gaze locked with Travis', and he suddenly felt like puffing out his chest and proving which of them was the bigger man. Tag felt a strange sense of insecurity where McKenna and Travis were concerned. Even more so than his sudden and strange infatuation with McKenna, Tag did not like this jealous reaction one damn bit.

Without another thought, Tag turned and headed for the stairs.

Chapter Nine

McKenna scrolled through her email on her iPhone, checking to see if there was anything urgent she needed to handle. From the look of it, Whisper had everything under control and the only thing left for McKenna was to sit back and enjoy this one of a kind experience.

She just wished she could enjoy it while wearing clothes.

Unfortunately, Tag had left a short while ago to take a phone call – or so he said. Despite being left to her own devices, she managed to ignore the curiosity that sparked the second she was alone. Instead, she was sitting motionless on the sofa, still clad in nothing whatsoever as she tried to keep herself preoccupied.

What the hell was taking Tag so long?

She should’ve been relieved not to have his intensely hot glare glued to her nude body. Acting was obviously not her strong suit, but she had put on the performance of a lifetime for the last few hours. Pretending not to be intimidated or more than a little uncomfortable at being naked in front of a man she barely knew and profoundly lusted after was harder than it looked.

Now, she felt like a guitar string that had been turned just one revelation too many; another subtle notch and she would break in two. So she honestly should be grateful that Tag was taking his time, but for some reason she wasn’t.

Maybe because she was enjoying seeing the discomfort on his face.

He was undeniably affected by her nudity, although he was pretending otherwise. He didn’t appear to be as good of an actor as she was though. She even heard him groan on one occasion, and she fought off the urge to smile, but she had certainly been grinning on the inside.

It hadn’t taken long for her to realize exactly what he was hoping for, but McKenna hadn’t given Tag what he expected. Rather than giving in to his manipulations, she opted to grin and bear it. Actually, bare would be the more accurate term.

She continued to remind herself that she would have her turn. He had agreed to her amended contract, which meant at some point in the next few days, she would be in charge, and she was already preparing a mental list of things she would do to the man to get him back for this.

Although, he did have a little bit of time before that happened, and McKenna didn’t have a clue what was in store for her. She only prayed he didn’t expect her to leave the private room naked because then she might just have to speak up.

When the door opened, McKenna steeled herself for his reappearance, and turned her head as though sparing him a glance. With butterflies staging an all-out riot in her belly, she went back to thumbing through the emails on her phone. Or pretending to anyway.
