Coming. I made him come. He could feel it, not only in the way Dalton jerked, but in the way Dalton’s cock surged inside him. Tierney bent forward and kissed him, holding Dalton’s face between his hands while his body shook under Tierney’s.

As soon as it was over, though, Tierney eased himself off. Sore and throbbing (in a not-totally-good way) and uninterested in his own orgasm. He lay next to Dalton, petting his smooth chest and listening to his breathing slow from gulping air to barely faster than regular.

“You didn’t come,” Dalton said, then shifted. Taking off the condom, Tierney realized.

He took it from the guy’s hand and dropped it over the edge of the bed, before rolling onto his side and working one arm under Dalton’s neck. “It’s okay. I made you come.”

Dalton turned toward him, smiling. “Yeah you did. Did you enjoy it at all?”

“Ummm . . .”

He sighed. “I don’t know anyone who had a good first time. Not really good.”

Tierney pulled him closer, suddenly aware of not having shaved recently and of how his jaw rasped against Dalton’s temple. Weird how he could feel that touch everywhere, even in his chest and toes. “Not surprising. I mean, our whole lives we’re pushing things out of our ass, and then one day someone suggests we put something in it? That takes some getting used to, dude.”

Dalton was laughing before Tierney finished speaking, and it gave him the same sort of happy jolt making him come had. Like maybe he really was the man.

“Some people like it, though. Maybe not the first time, but later,” Dalton said, fitting his head under Tierney’s chin and kissing his chest, right in the very center of his sternum.

Some guys. “Do you?” The question came out half-strangled by a surge of excitement that arrowed up from his nuts. Now that he had bottoming out of the way, maybe . . .?

“I do,” Dalton whispered, then slid down Tierney’s body, dropping kisses and words on his skin as he went. “If it’s the right guy, I really like it.” He gripped Tierney’s hip, pushing until Tierney turned onto his back. His cock was starting to show serious interest in the proximity of Dalton’s lips, slowly plumping up again. Dalton kissed it, right on the end, then sucked Tierney into his mouth, making any further conversation impossible.

He came within minutes, like his orgasm had been waiting, half-built, gathered into a small ball of tension on hold. And yes, he was sore, but the throbbing in his ass added to his excitement—all the fantastic things Dalton could do and make him feel were even better with that thump of accomplishment backing it up and fueling the inevitable explosion.

Exhaustion hit him almost immediately, as soon as Dalton slid back up and fit his head under Tierney’s chin again, sighing and settling in. “Postcoital friend cuddling,” Tierney mumbled, letting his hand fall onto Dalton’s back, exerting himself just enough to pull the guy a little closer.

Dalton kissed him on the chest, exactly where he had before sucking him off. “Was it worth it?”

He got what Dalton was asking, but he was too exhausted to talk about the serious shit right now. “The blowjob or the whole thing?”

“The whole thing.” Dalton lifted his head, which meant Tierney sort of had to open his eyes. “Did you get what you needed out of it?”

“Yeah.” He trailed his fingers up Dalton’s spine until he could stroke the hair at the nape of his neck. “Thank you.”

Dalton’s smile was warm enough to light up Tierney’s insides. “Anytime.”

In the morning, Dalton woke first, then he kissed Tierney awake.

“I should brush my teeth.” Tierney tried to push up from the bed.

“I don’t care about that,” Dalton said, locking his arms around Tierney’s shoulders so he couldn’t escape. None of his former boyfriends would ever have kissed him with morning breath, and it was of the utmost importance that Tierney be nothing like them at that moment, not while Dalton was rubbing their bodies together, jockeying the man into just the right position over him, until Tierney’s thighs were sliding along his and Tierney’s hard cock was bumping up against Dalton’s.

“This is,” Tierney panted while he worked his hips into the perfect tempo. “It’s hotter than I woulda . . .”

“Yeah.” Dalton smiled, cupping the back of his head and pulling him down for more kisses, not letting him go until they’d both come all over each other’s stomach.

“Our last sleepover, I wanted to do that so badly when I woke up in the morning,” he admitted, saying the words into Tierney’s hair while the man recovered, lying on top of him.

He could feel Tierney’s mouth stretch into a smile against his shoulder. “I think I figured out why Grandfather didn’t want me to have sleepovers with boys.”

“Yeah?”

“’Cause they’re messy,” Tierney said, rolling off of him and making a face at his cum-coated abdomen. The trail of hair that led from his pecs all the way down to his dick was gummed up with it. Just as Dalton reached out to run his fingers through the reddish-brown curls, Tierney turned, searching over the side of the bed for something. He yanked up that horrendous robe and wiped himself off with it, then offered it to Dalton, whose hand was still reaching out to touch him. Caress him lovingly. Like a boyfriend would.

He took the robe instead, ducking his head and paying more attention to cleaning himself off than he needed to.

This whole thing—waking Tierney up for sex, and cuddling, and kissing and touching him—it was so much more than friendship. I can’t do this. Even if falling in love—gulp—didn’t seem like a problem, or a cruelty, it could be for Tierney, couldn’t it? Even good stress could derail him.

And it wasn’t just about Tierney, was it? Dalton had to be very careful, because last night and this morning, he’d been really into the sex. Not just because it was sex, but because it was Tierney. Tierney, the guy who was, on the surface at least, like Dalton’s exes. Am I repeating myself?

Tierney sighed and let his head flop onto the pillow, smiling. Totally unaware of Dalton’s distress. “I had a meeting yesterday, and that’s what threw me,” he said, voice smoothing out from the roughness of sleep and sex. “I thought I could handle it, but I was fooling myself.”

“That’s what it was?” Dalton couldn’t help himself. “You and meetings.” He lay down next to Tierney, but not too close.
