Shaking his head, he chafed her nipples with the pads of his thumbs. “There’s one place we haven’t made love.” He kissed the nape of her neck, then set her away from him. Rising from the lounge chair, he held out his hand. “And I think it’s high time we changed that, don’t you?”

Without so much as a moment’s hesitation, she placed her hand in his and let him pull her to her feet. As they walked through the French doors to his bedroom, she reminded herself that she should resist temptation, run as hard as she could back to her apartment and protect what was left of her heart.

But when he led her into the master bathroom and turned her to face him, she realized that she didn’t have a choice in the matter. Staring up into his intense hazel eyes, she knew it was far too late to save herself. Her heart was no longer her own. It belonged to Caleb, and it had from the moment he’d swaggered into her office the day he’d arrived to take over Skerritt and Crowe.

Smiling, he peeled her damp swimsuit away, then tossed it aside. “Your body is way too beautiful to cover up with clothes.”

She grinned. “Even at work?”

As he lightly slid his hands from the swell of her breasts down to her hips, the wicked gleam in his eyes stole her breath. “I don’t share. Seeing you this way is for my eyes only, sweetheart.”

“That street goes both ways,” she said, tugging his wet gym shorts from his lean hips. “I love the way your body looks, too. But I wouldn’t want any other women appreciating it the way I do.”

He took her into his arms as he lowered his head. “Only for you, Alyssa. Only you.”

He fused his mouth with hers then, and the promise in his gentle kiss, the feel of his muscular body surrounding hers caused her pulse to race and stars to dance behind her closed eyes. The warmth of need that she only experienced in Caleb’s arms flowed through her—heating her blood, filling her with passion so strong it made her weak in the knees.

His arms tightened around her as he slipped his tongue inside to entice her with the taste of his hunger, and a fluttering swirl of desire began to form in the very core of her. But when he ran his hands down her back to cup her bottom and lift her closer, the feel of his hard arousal pressed to her lower belly caused an answering tightness deep within her and a delicious ache to commence in all of her feminine places.

Lost in the sensations he’d created inside her, she vaguely realized that he was moving them into the large tiled shower, closing the door and turning on the water. He tightened his arms around her once again to pull her to him and the feel of his wet skin against hers sent ribbons of excitement twining to the most interesting places.

Sliding his hands along her sides, then back up to cup the heaviness he’d created in her breasts, he lowered his head to sip the trickling water from her aching nipples. He teased first one hardened tip, then the other and by the time he raised his head to kiss her, she tingled all over.

Caleb’s gaze held her spellbound as he reached for the soap, then ran it over her shoulders, her breasts and down her abdomen. His slick hands touched her everywhere, sliding over her skin, sending tiny sparks of electricity skipping over every nerve in her body and it took all of her concentration just to remember to breathe.

Determined to treat him to the same sensual massage, she smiled as she took the soap from him. Lathering her trembling hands, she smoothed them over his wide chest, rippling stomach and lean flanks. She wanted to give to him as he’d given to her and, taking him in her palms, she slid her fingers along his taut skin, measured his length and the strength of his need for her.

He closed his eyes and a deep groan of pleasure escaped his parted lips. “Sweetheart, if I die right now, I’ll leave this world a happy man.”

“But I don’t want you to be just happy,” she said, wondering if she had the nerve to take her exploration to the next level. “Open your eyes, Caleb.” When he did as she commanded, she waited until the water had rinsed away the last traces of soap. “I want you to be fulfilled.”

Caleb’s heart stalled and he didn’t think he’d ever breathe again as he watched Alyssa sink to her knees in front of him. “Sweetheart, you don’t have to—”

At the feel of her sweet lips on his heated body, he stopped abruptly and clenched his teeth together so hard he’d probably end up with a broken jaw. Her intimate kiss was sending liquid fire streaking though his veins at the speed of light and he wasn’t altogether sure how much longer his legs were going to support him.

Placing his hands on her shoulders, he lifted her to her feet. “If you keep that up much longer, fulfillment won’t be an issue.”

She smiled. “You don’t like what I was doing?”

“I didn’t say that.” He drew some much-needed air into his lungs and shook his head. “The problem is, I like it too much. But I want both of us to be there for the grand finale. And I fully intend to be inside you when that happens.”

He lowered his head to swirl his tongue around one beaded nipple, while he chafed the other one with his thumb. Teasing her with his teeth, then sucking the tight tip into his mouth, he slid his hand down between them to find the sensitive nub at the apex of her thighs. She trembled against him as he gently stroked her and he decided that he’d like nothing better than to spend the rest of his life bringing her pleasure.

By the time he raised his head to gaze at her beautiful face, her porcelain cheeks were painted with the rosy glow of passion and her baby-blue eyes sparkled with deep longing. Her heightened excitement fueled his own and Caleb suddenly needed to possess her body and soul.

“Do you want me, Alyssa?”

“Yes.”

“Now?”

“Yes.”

Somehow he found the strength to step back and momentarily leave the shower. When he returned with their protection in place, he turned her away from him, then wrapped his arms around her and pulled her back against his chest.

“Caleb?” Her uncertainty was evident in the tone of her voice.

“Do you trust me, Alyssa?” When she nodded, he kissed her shoulder. “I’m going to caress your body while I make love to you.”

He supported her weight as he lifted her to him and in one smooth motion entered her from behind. Her soft moan of pleasure mingling with his deep groan sent waves of hot, urgent desire coursing from the top of his head all the way to the soles of his feet and he had to struggle to retain what little control he had left.
